Art to Ampersand

I've always liked to work with my hands.  In college I received a degree in Art.   After many years as a not-much-for-profit professional, I turned towards a trade.  HVAC encompasses all kinds of interesting stuff:  controls, airflow, thermal dynamics, electrical, and fabrication.  For me it is "Mechanical Art."  Once licensed as an HVAC contractor, I creatively named my company "Fire & Ice."  I was soon surprised to find myself surrounded by many other creative contractors named "Fire & Ice" (163 nation-wide).  I began to distinguish my "Fire & Ice" from the other "Fire and Ice" by the "Ampersand" (&).  Now relocated in Virginia, I'm back in business save the Fire and the Ice, leaving just the &:  Ampersand Heating and Cooling.  Click for a quick history of the 27th letter. -- Bart Kasten ~ Owner/Operator
